Thanks for doing the treadwear comparisons and the computed cost per distance. I did a similar comparison of the cost per mile of about 18 different UHP/Max summer tires about 4 years ago and found the Michelin PS4S to be on par with a number of the better quality tires. I have been impressed with Michelin's ability to make a tire that gives excellent grip but yet delivers great tread life. Going with the Michelin PS4S on my 370Z, I got about 35K miles and still had some tread left.

Those ps4 disappear like nothing else. I’ve got a f82 m4 comp and even just going up and down the motorway in a straight line, with suspension set to comfort at 65mph they last about 5000miles. Just changed to ps5 to see what happens with the wider rears

This is only a small sampling and not representing all tires. I've measured All Seasons with 11/32", same for Winter ones. Depends a lot on the brand.

Tyres are confusing.

Ive been recommended the Bridgestones a few times, are they available in the uk?

I have a '23 Supra with 715hp to the road and 305/40/18r 275/40/18f, is my summer daily. What tyre set would work best? Hopefully the tyres last more then one summer.

Does you need track tyres?

It's the opposite case with bmw m cars. The oem tires are better in every aspect compared to the same tire that doesn't have the bmw star.

I have the RE71s but my car is not ready yet. Watching this video i am concerned about the life of these. I don't know exactly how many laps you did on them but they seem pretty worn for a test

I will go for the optimum performance tyre, though it is more pricey. A 10 cm shorter brake may save my family and my car. One accident will cost more damage even lifves.

The PS5 on my Honda S2000 really is a joy to drive with. Have done 10,000 kms and really enjoying the experience in wet and dry conditions.

Could you test cheaper track tires like Accelera 651 Sport XTRA. Likes like 100 dollars in USA. Is it even worth it.

The Michelins only lasted 1 day, 6 twenty minute sessions on my c8 Vette. The fronts ran out quick. Possibly alignment.

New tires always are worse on gas then the ones you have in that are older and have less tread

I went back to back with these two on my STI (at UMC as well). I started with the PS4S and after one ATD track night and was very disappointed in how quickly they fell off and turned to mush after 3 laps. They absolutely need cooldown laps. They also didn't have near the turn-in feel that I was after either. AMAZING for a daily driver, but I do not think they're really up to actual track duty. I've been loving the RE71RS.

When i went from normal tyres to michelin supersport, i went down in topspeed from 248km/h to 245 (gps speed) With my nankang ar-1 i am glad if i make 240😅 As long as the tires can handle the acceleration grip, the less resistance the faster you are. Same for wider or stickier tyres and lap times

I have 19inch ps5, i want the ps4s but the ps5 looks much better of design because ps4s old

This is something I’ve just been thinking about as I consider doing open track days in my stock street car. I’d like to use a low grip tire to reduce the wear on my car, but I’ve heard of some street tires not being up to the task of track use without tread separations and overheating. I’d like to even go to all season levels of grip, but those are certainly not typically track rated. I also wonder about response/feedback/manners.

Wet performance more important then dry performance? Most west European users drive more in dry then wet circumstances, from Italy to Norway, from England to Poland. Wet is very important but % of time is more dry then wet. What I mostly miss in this test is Goodyear. Hankook and Nokian were also pretty good as far as I remember. 2 years ago I choose the CrossClimate+ (CC2 not available in 14") because of the high summer time (dry) performance. All seasons are used in the hot summer but it's good to have better snow traction in case that ever happens in your country, which is not so much in west-Europe (except scandinavia) anymore. Summer performance is most important, but it's good to have better traction then a summer tire in the winter. In that matter, can't wait to see the CrossClimate 3 haha. I don’t understand the acceleration difference either. Maybe add a 1/4 mile drag test and 100 to 0 mph brake test on cold and warm tyres ?

I don’t have experience with the new Nokian R5 but I have used Nokian R3 SUV. Despite have excellent snow and ice traction, I find that the tread wear out fast when driven aggressively. Also I find the dry handling to be squishy. Wet handling was good as long as it is not pushed too hard. Having said that, I have chosen Michelin X-Ice snow as my next tire to try. So far I find the snow and ice handling to be very good but not as good as the Nokian when driven hard. Wet and Dry handling on the other hand is better with the Michelin. I also find the Michelin much quieter. The treadwear seems to be better as well. For that reason, I will be fitting my 2nd vehicle with Michelin X-Ice Snow as well. I find that it is a well balanced tire that check off all the boxes for me.

Goodyear is an anti-white company so f*** them. They also bought Cooper tires, so now they are on the s*** list too.

Really feel like changing wheels and front tyre size invalidates this test, it is impossible to know how much of the time gain was from the different tyre and how much of it was from lighter wheels and wider fronts

What load range did you use for the Michelin Defender LTX M/S? Will the load range affect its performances? I know that standard load and XL load rides softer than 10ply E rated tires. THANKS

Great video. Please could you iron out some conflicting information. The ASC2's win this group test, rated better than the CC2's. However, on your website, there is a comparison where you put the ASC2's against the CC2's, with the CC2's coming out on top. The two test contradict each other?

Can you explane the differance between the sport contact 7 and the extreme contact sport 02?
